The 3D Smartbox kick-off meeting took place in Klagenfurt, Austria, on January 16-17, 2025, with participation from Mindleap (Spain), ECECE (Austria), Lumen (Italy), Akademia WBS (Poland), Siegen Universität (Germany) and FH Kärnten as the coordinator and hosting partner.
The project focuses on the integration of 3D printing technology into education to enhance both teaching and learning experiences. By providing interactive, engaging, and hands-on learning opportunities, 3D printing enables students to bring their ideas to life and develop critical skills such as creativity, problem-solving, and design thinking. It also offers significant potential for cross-curricular applications in subjects such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art, among others.
During the meeting, the partners had the opportunity to present their organisations and define the work plan for the coming months.
Additionally, a working session was organized to discuss teachers’ needs when using 3D printing machines and to establish a common foundation for producing the project results.
